Curiosity abounded when arriving. After all this was the same location which it seems a very long time ago was the Hawaii Theater, sister club of Tropical Lei and famously popular for high mileage extras.
During the ‘soft opening’ admission was free and one ‘required’ soft drink was $5 plus tip. But the published lap dance prices were twice what I had gotten used to just down the street at Déjà Vu: $20 per song Topless, $40 nude. VIP was the same price as nude but with a minimum of 3 dances. When I got a tour I discovered that the two VIP areas were not private at all but a shared wrap around bench with dividers. Even if you got one of the two VIP rooms to yourself there was no curtain at the entrance. If you had to share one you could see what the other pair was doing even more than in the topless and VIP aisles. I did talk with one dancer who said she had danced there in the HT days. When I asked about the old menu she said it was still available ($80 oral $180 full plus VIP) but with the new VIP rooms it seemed uncomfortably exhibitionistic to do so.
When asked about more private spaces the floor manager said that there was essentially ‘a whole extra club with a waterfall, shower show and private rooms’ that they had to wall off in order to get approval from the city to open (Apparently it was necessary for them to match the square footage of the old HT.) They expressed a hope to soon open up that extra space, but considering the ordeal to get reopened at all I am skeptical.
