Booby Trap had a steady Friday...
Booby Trap had a steady Friday day shift crowd when I stopped by between liquid lunch and happy hour. The club is between Cheetah on 31st St. and Diamond Dolls on Powerline Rd., and offers a different experience. The BT is basically one big rectangular room, with and old bar on one side and a new bar in the back. Friction dances are conducted in a raised area near the entrance; there's one main stage and a second alonfside the old bar. Dancers are, on average, a few years older and somewhat less attractive than the Cheetah. Given the same prices for booze and dances ($10/song tableside, $25 in the back) I expected a higher degree of friskiness. I was wrong. The dancers were OK friendly, but didn't offer the bar-side muggings of, say, the Porthole Pub (a favorite spot). Lots of upsell pressure, in fact more than I received from the beauties at Cheetah. YMMV in the back room--mine certainly did, and not in a satisfying way. During my visit, the vibe was nothing special, and after a couple of drinks I decided to move along to another option. Overall, not a bad place to hang out, but for my money I prefer the Cheetah.
