I have been to Rick's a couple of times but most recently decided to lone wolf it on a Friday night. Hosts at door are very friendly and professional, collect the cover and will guide you to a table if that's what you request, or to the bar area. The downstairs area is very nice but a standard strip club setup, with a stage in the corner but mainly lounge chairs around small cocktail tables and a bar on the side. Dancers are mingling with patrons, and are, on the whole VERY attractive (8-10's) and very friendly. Place is surprisingly low pressure, and if you get the girls a drink ($15, not that bad for NYC) plus tip for the bartneder they will sit with you for quite some time. Plently tended to be intelligent, friendly and chatty... which, for me, is NOT what I'm looking for. AFter a little while, they will ask if you want to 'have some fun'. Standard dances at in the lounge chairs are $20, and they are pretty minimal contact in the open area, not all that exciting. They go one song, and some dancers do start in the middle and cut it short. The more you buy, well... the more of the same you get. Didn't opt for the VIP, which they assured me was 'more fun' but having read other reviews, I decided not to partake.

Wandered upstairs, a lot quiter, less dudes milling around, some of the hotter dancers looking for the bigger spenders... but... more of the same.

I was here one other time in the last several months with a bigger group of 12 or so guys. We got bottle service, were seated upstairs. This attracted a LOT more attention from the various dancers, who were a lot more forward, but it didn't amount to much more. VIP may be better here, but, you're looking at at least $175 for 15 minutes plus tip for the doorman, etc, probably not worth it. If you just want to see and not touch beatiful, friendly, often intelligent women, this is your place. If you are looking for any significant contact or extras, move on.
