The Foxy Lady is on my way home whenever I am leaving downtown Raleigh so I drove by it for years before stopping in. In truth my first experience there was pretty negative. It was a friend's birthday and we had a few hundred to blow between us and the owner refused to discount our admission or even let us take a look at who was working. After that I pledged to never stop in, but eventually broke down and tried it based on the recommendation of a friend.

The inside is not posh like a few places in the triangle, but at the same time does not appear to be rundown. They have a pool table and a bar that can acomodate a 5-7 people, should you choose not to sit where the action is. The place allows smoking and they have a non-smoking section (given the size of the place the non-smoking section probably should not even be there).

On to the good...The bartenders are for the most part fantastic. I went probably 10-15 times over the span of 3 months and with the exception of one, they were all great. It's not like we had long chit chats but they were always cordial, quick with my order and never pushed me to buy more drinks. The girls, although few will probably grace a magazine cover, are also great. They have a pretty diverse group. You will find everything from the tight bodied college black cutie to the white girl with junk in her trunk. There are even a couple of Asian girls, for the guys who like that. The girls are also pretty friendly, especially if you go on a slower night and I've met several regulars who swear by the place. I've even witnessed some of the girls spend time with regulars even when the guys is not spending a ton of money on them. In one case I saw a dancer sit with a guy for 3 hours talking and smoking even though he never bought a dance or tipped her on stage (I saw him come in). The few I actually had conversations with were very pleasant to talk to and I was rarely bothered about buying a dance. A few of them also work pretty hard on stage. There's one black girl who was there on a weekend really showing off, doing an array of pole tricks and even flipping into a guys lap.
