I was back doing a recce of the two of my usual clubs in Des Moines. First things first-Things have CHANGED, for worse I might add. The physical club is the same, except the area where beds were is off limits. No more VIP bands for 25 dollars. Apparently they changed it recently,and the vip areas are now billed by the minute.Starting at 200 for 15 mins to upto 700 for an hour.I'm a spendthrift myself, Thanks but no thanks. This I believe was the biggest draw of the club, and now it's gone. As for the crowd, the loyals still seem to be there, the usual 30s to 50s crowd, lapdances away from the floor but open area are still 25 dollars.But $$$ used to be spent in the VIP areas not here.

The girls themselves were a tad disappointing. To be fair they are still friendly,and ranging from 2(please put your clothes back on) to 8(pretty girl next door type), but mostly 5s. Was also disappointed the girl whom I spent $$$ on the last time I saw her, didn't seem to recognize or want to talk to me anymore.

After spending a few $$ on lapdances I was off the other joint-Lumberyard. Guess what.It was packed! ,and there was small queue outside waiting to be let in. They made some flimsy excuse why they couldn't let me in. Given the disappointing night that it had been, I just left.

Overall the Des moines clubs seem to be pulling more crowd, by doing less things right. The optimist that I am,blaming it all economic recovery.Too bad for old the Connoisseurs.
