Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations for this place. If you have read my other reviews, you know that I am big into Gentlemen’s Clubs, especially gown clubs and not into the whole relaxed neighborhood-bar feel for the clubs. Still, you will notice a relatively high score for Manhattan Player’s Club (MPC). Despite myself, I had a really good time.
The club opens with a small ramp which leads to a tiny room with 2 doors. A window on the wall allows you to pay your admission fees. It is $35 for a membership and $20 for member entry. You don’t have to pay cover when you buy your membership. If you make an issue of it, and, in my case, show out-of-state ID, they will let you in on a “one-time” fee of $25. Once you have settled up, you head through the second door into the main part of the club.
The club itself is one large room. There is a small stage in the corner to the right as you enter and the larger stage is in the middle of the room on the right hand side. The “bar” takes up the left hand side wall. There are chairs and tables in most of the empty space except for the paths where people walk. There are more tables and chairs on the far side of the main (middle) stage and beyond that, on the far side of the club is a group of chairs around the wall that is the lap dance area. The layout was very basic and simple, as were the chairs and tables. It wasn’t fancy but it wasn’t unpleasant or uncomfortable. Indeed, it kind of had a comforting feel.
