Late morning trip to Bottoms Up....
Late morning trip to Bottoms Up. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this place, even when it hasn't given me a hard spot in my jeans. There's something just friendly and cozy about it. The staff never changes, which is good and bad. You know when you walk in that you're not going to find any new favorites, and sometimes not even all of the old gang is around, but you can be pretty sure that on day shift you'll find someone who can give you a good grind and a topless hug. Today, there were a half-dozen or so around, and in the hour I was there, just three other customers drifted in. Lunch, which was included in the $10 cover, as well as a soft drink, was really good. Home-made beef stroganoff. The big news was that the upstairs VIP charge is different since last time I was in. Then, you paid $20 at the bar and were expected to tip an equal amount to the dancer for 3 songs. Now, you pay $10 to the bar and tip the dancer something like $10 a song for up to 3 songs. I think if you go past three, they have to go back downstairs for another ticket from the bar. I like the new system better. You don't get locked into 3 songs with someone you haven't tried before. If it's not great, you can bail after 1. If it's heaven on earth, you can go 3, 4, 5, whatever. If you haven't been in, it's worth a look -- during the day, anyway. Nights, I've never been too impressed with the talent. If you have been in, you might want to take advantage of the flexible new VIP system.
