It's been a long time since...

It's been a long time since I went to Ecstasy - maybe 5 years. I was curious to see if/how it's changed. Still the same layout - circular stage with about a dozen chairs around it, and maybe 15-20 chairs further away. Not the cleanest place, but not filthy either. The bathroom is still the same too. A trough to piss in, and a toilet without a front door. The garbage can by the toilet had a few condoms in it as always. For those worried about Santa Ana at night - this part is fine; no security issues at all. The private dances are on leather (plastic?) couches for you to lie on, and a curtain separating your "room" from the rest of the club. Not totally private - a bouncer-type comes by each dance to see if you're in there.

I was there pretty early at 7:30 or so on a Saturday night. The planets were aligned for me to be able to make it at that time, so that was it. The place was DEAD. There was one other guy sitting at the stage, and one or two others back in the other chairs. One dancer said it was empty because of the economy; another said it picks up later. I was there for maybe 90 minutes and it didn't pick up at all.

A guy came by to take my "drink" order. Yes, a guy. WTF?! They always had the cutest cocktail waitresses before. Anyway, he messed it up (coke and water instead of two waters) but whatever. I'm didn't go there to have $7 sodas anyway.
