I never really understood the appeal...

I never really understood the appeal of a strip club thing a couple of months ago when I visited The World Famous Body Shop. Let me explain. Having moved to San Diego right out of high school to attend college, and having lived here since, I have pretty much only been to strip clubs in San Diego. Sure, I went to a couple along the way in Las Vegas during Spring break, but as a college student I could barely afford the cover at a strip club in Vegas, and I was certainly not throwing around stacks of bills. As is oft stated in reviews here and elsewhere, the strip club scene in San Diego is pretty weak. I have been through all the usual places for buddy's birthdays and bachelor parties (Pacers, Platinum and the Vu) and just never saw the appeal of giving a girl $20 ever three minutes to shake her ass in my face and brush up against me intermittently. To be honest, i never even get hard during lap dances. Having expressed the same to a client in a casual conversation about what he did the prior weekend, he told me I should check out the Body Shop sometime. Fast forward a few months to a snoozer of a Monday night football game on TV and some cash in the wallet and i checked it out. On walking in, I almost turned around and walked right back out. After $10 at the door in exchange for a lifetime pass, I entered perhaps the dirtiest, most outdated room I had ever been in. I'm not going to lie, the place is a dump. I grabbed a seat against the wall and immediately an older cocktail waitress was on me to sell the mandatory two non-alcoholic beverages to me for another $10 + $5 dollar tip (despite lackluster service, the place was dead and she is trying to earn a living). The action on stage is not fantastic, most of the girls do not have incredible pole skills like you might find at Deja Vu down the road, but unlike anywhere else I have been in town, I noticed that all lap dances were done in private rooms and not out in the open. Interesting, and to me a huge plus because I always found it a touch uncomfortable to have other patrons and a bouncer staring at me while getting a lap dance.

While buying my overpriced water the first (and best) girl of the evening sat in the chair next to me. While not a size 2 platinum blonde, she was pretty in a girl next door with piercing a and a tattoo on her ass cheek pretty. We chatted a bit and she offered a lap dance after maybe 10 minutes which I turned down with the promise of getting one later. Her response and reaction was awesome, just accepting what I said but nonetheless still hanging out and asking me about myself and telling me about herself. No high pressure and she did not instantly disappear when I was not ready for a lap dance. She hung out until it was her turn to go on stage and another girl took her place hanging out with me. Same deal, the lap dance was offered but without high pressure and without the girl running off the instant I politely declined. I was giving $5 tips to the girls for just hanging out and flirting with me, and of course giving $1 to each girl after she came off the stage. This place really stood out because everything was so low pressure. About an hour in, I decided it was time to get a lap dance from the first girl, so away we went to a private room. The dance was incredible. Lots of full body contact, lots of grinding, tons of boobs smashed into my face and plenty of ass and pussy right in my face so I could smell her sex. Most San Diego lap dances are all air with some occasional rubbing and incidental contact, but here touching was the rule and air space between us was only during position changes. The place is a dump and in general the girls here are not as pretty as other places, but the high mileage dances, great attitudes and extra effort put in by the girls here have made me a huge fan of The Body Shop and I look forward to visiting again soon.
