I went to the Pyramid of...

I went to the Pyramid of Pleasure on a Friday night. It is located near a traffic circle where Old St. Louis Road and Bluff Road meet. This club used to be called Centerfolds Cabaret (owned by the same people that own Hollywood Show Club) the last time I was in the area, but has since been sold to a new owner and is now the Pyramid of Pleasure. The main stage is very long, spanning most of the room, and has the glossy pillars that you see over at Hollywood. There is also a secondary stage at the far end of the club that has a brass stripper pole. Two dancers were posted on the main stage and one was posted on the far stage at peak times. The crowd was very mixed: thugs, couples, groups of young men, and solitary old men. Supposedly, there is an adult theatre and swinger section behind one of the walls. A Budweiser cost $5. The cover was steep at $10 considering the quality of ladies the club provided.

The dancers were slightly better than the adjacent PT's Centreville, but not by much. I’d say there was one 8, one 7, and the other sixteen or so dancers were 6's or lower. I tried to get the attention of the 8 by tossing mad cash at her during her stage turn, but she went over to her fat regular after she was done on stage. I was going to call it a night. Then the 7, who I also tipped well on stage, showed up. She was all about the hard sell, telling me right off the bat I should take her to the VIP room and she’d make me leave happy. I felt like she was upselling and that I’d be getting a very expensive HJ at best, so I declined. The dance prices were something like $25/lap dance, $35/bed dance, $50/Pharaoh dance. I have no clue what the Pharaoh dance is, but I doubt anything could be worth $50 in the span of a single song. The VIP rooms seemed to have locking doors and were $150/15 minutes, $300/30 minutes, and $600/60 minutes.

This place is closed to the public sometimes when private parties buy the club out for the night. On Fridays and Saturdays they stay open until 6am! Overall, I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.
