I saw an add on their website for $60 entry fee for locals (normal is $80) and decided to give it a try. I showed up just before midnight. It is in a shopping center and there were almost no cars in the lot. I sat in the parking lot for about 15 minutes to decide whether or not to try it. Another car drove up and two young guys went in during that period; that was it. When they didn't leave immediately, I took it as a good sign and decided to go in. (Mistake #1) You enter a small foyer with a payment window to the side and a black guy was standing inside. Before I could say anything, he said, "Man, this is your lucky night! The place is packed with college girls and it's a wall-to-wall party! And, there are only 2 guys in there with them at the moment." Given that I had been in the parking lot for over 15 minutes, I was pretty sure this was BS. But, since I was already planning to go in, I ignored the warning sign (Mistake #2). I handed him a $100 along with my local driver's license and he gave me a $10 back. I was like, "Woa, buddy; your website says that the normal entry fee is $80 and there is a big banner that says locals get in for $60." "Oh, I forgot" he said as he reluctantly gave me another $30. And, you can't count?!?!?! (Mistake #3).
I went in and the "wall-to-wall" party consisted of the aforementioned 2 guys sitting on a couch on one side of the room (each drinking a bottle of water) and a slightly older blonde lady sitting on one of the couches on the other side of the room - who I learned later works there - also drinking a bottle of water. I decided to walk around and checked out the place. It was pretty nicely appointed - pool table, theme rooms, sex swing - and they were all empty! As I came back up front, I spotted a glass door cooler with lots of water bottles in it. Oh, I thought, at least they provide cold water for the $60 entry fee. I figured I would grab a bottle and join the party, or at least stay a few minutes to see what happened. I had to go around the end of a small counter to get to the cooler (about 2 steps). As I reached for the door, I heard the blonde lady yelling "What he HELL are you doing! Get out from behind the counter! Those aren't free; you have to buy them." as she literally ran my way. I stopped and asked how much. I don't recall the answer, but it was more than I was willing to pay.
I started to leave, but thought that I would at least hang out for a few minutes to see if anyone else came in. About 10 minutes later, the blonde lady went to the front and the younger guys came over and made some conversation about how dead it was, the lies the front guy told them to get them in, and the overreaction of the blonde lady. We chatted for a few minutes and decided we had wasted enough time, so we all left. So, at midnight on a Saturday night, there were exactly 0 (zero!) customers.
