Royal Palace is in the Dupont...
Royal Palace is in the Dupont Circle area of DC on Connecticut Ave which is a main drag in that part of town. Parking in the area is challenging. You may be parking several blocks away. But it's generally a safe area so you shouldn't feel threatened if you do have to walk. Also your car is likely to still be there and still in one piece if you park in the neighborhood. If you can't find street parking, there is the garage at the Washington Hilton which is less than a 5 minute walk away. I live in the Maryland suburbs and I was using the Metro that day so I didn't have to deal with parking. The Dupont Circle Metro station is a 10 minute walk away.
The club doesn't charge a cover. Just inside the entrance on the right is a stage that could handle more than one dancer at a time. There is a one-dancer stage toward the back left. The bar is in the back just past the smaller stage. I was here on a Thursday around 6:30 p.m. There was a total of maybe 10 patrons at that time. It was late August so maybe people were away IDK. I think the number of dancers about equalled the number of patrons. Because of the lack of crowds at this time only the front stage was being used. A couple of the dancers were chatting up the patrons at the bar. They might have been regulars given the time of day and overall lack of crowd. There were two dancers using the front stage. I would say the dancers were mostly in the 6-7 range. There was one AA, one or or two Latinas and the rest were white. The patrons are mixed which IMO is due in part to the club being near a lot of offices. There is no VIP area apparently because as has been mentioned in other reviews DC has laws against lap dances. The dancers work the room after performing to do the "tip walk". On this visit there was no "hard sell". I was approached by one dancer but we didn't click. She was the only one that came up to me in the 45 minutes or so that I was there.
A plus in this club's favor is they have Happy Hour until 7 on weekdays; not sure about weekends also not sure about starting time (maybe 3?). All drinks are 2for1 in HH. I had my two O'Douls for $7.00. Don't know if there is a menu. I didn't see anyone eating. There are plenty of food options in the neighborhood if RP doesn't have a menu.
