Made my once-a-year trip to the Vu to see if things are any better at Minneapolis' super store of stripping. They are not. It's business as usual. This place's business model is based on volume and not quality. They do have new chairs, but they're not that comfortable. They also have you sitting lower which makes it even harder to see and assess the dancers who sneak up from behind and ask "do you want a dance?" They then lean around to look at you from the side, but you can't check out their bodies until they're walking away after you've said no. This happened so much I'm convinced they must be coached to do it. Stage action is above average. Some of these girls really know how to work the poles. I was completely blown away by Layla, who is the 2012 Miss Nude Minnesota. Set my sights high to get a dance from her, but then saw she had a steady stream of regulars she was shuttling to the beds upstairs. I'll have to back earlier some night to catch her before the line forms. Otherwise, this place has no personality and most of the dancers won't take 15 seconds to chat with you. One, after the fifth time of approaching with the five-word standard line of "Do you want a dance?" -- and my standard "no" -- walked away muttering "You're killing me." Then it might be a good time to reassess your sales approach. Places like this are selling fantasy...give me something to fantasize about.
