After hearing about the Velvet Touch...

After hearing about the Velvet Touch for the entirety of my teenage years, I finally mustered up enough courage to pay a visit. The display in the front of the building was decorated the same as it was as I assume it had been in 1989 and also advertised 25 cent lap dances (which are a thing of the past, I asked). The exterior is unnerving, especially at night. After walking in, I noticed that the building was oddly large, with a counter in the middle of the room and their stock lining the walls only. The DVDs are in strange cases that have small holes in the glass front so you can stick your hand in to look at the back, but eliminates the possibility of theft. The lingerie selection is vintage, but not advertised as such, probably because they've had it for years. There's plenty of vintage erotica books, mostly homosexually themed. Their prices are extremely low- the ones that stick out in my mind are $5 for 45 minutes in the video arcade and $10 for a 10 minute striptease. Once you look past the barren supply of adult products and dust off the dead flies and cobwebs, it's an alright place.
