I've been to the Northern many a times over the years. Back in the day, if I remember right, the cover was just a couple bucks and you could get a can of Coke for a couple bucks. The dancers weren't of the highest caliber back then, there weren't any lap dances, and the chairs weren't all that comfortable.

Today, the club's a lot cleaner with somewhat more comfortable chairs, although they do need to invest some money in the bathroom. I don't think that's seen any renovations in decades. The place also has a different layout, the dancers are a higher caliber (as with any club, some more than others), and lap dances are available.

Now on to why the place just doesn't do it for me. The cover's gone up a lot -- to eight bucks -- rivalling covers in larger cities. Drink prices have also gone up. Where we used to get a can of Coke (with a glass and a lot of ice), we know pay two bucks for a glass of Coke (about the size of a coffee cup and with a lot of ice). Lap dances are now available, but a customer has to pay an additional five bucks to the house. VIP dances are also available -- $125 for fifteen minutes, with $25 going to the house and $100 to the dancer -- again ridiculously high and rivalling VIP dances in large cities.
