First of all, you *really* should try and visit The Mermaid at some point... it is an experience if nothing else! As many other reviewers have mentioned, there is a "membership card" required. There is no fee to apply and there is a basic form that you have to fill out and sign. Your ID is looked at, but it isn't copied or anything too severe. The bar is LARGE and immediately in front of you as you enter the building. Think dive bar or biker bar and you will have a good idea of what to expect. I don't think *anything* is on tap, but $5 for a Corona isn't too bad!

I was the only one in the place when I visited on a rainy Wednesday evening. There were two ladies when I was there, one wearing a schoolgirl outfit but in her late 40s or early 50s and the other was probably late 30s or early 40s. The older one had a typical older stripper body and the other one was my type - a bit chubby with a pair of real tits. They turned on the music just for me and the younger one started dancing at the stage which is at a slightly awkward angle from the bar. She was decent on the pole and I threw a couple of dollars her way. Two songs later and she came over to chat and explained the $10 dance at the chairs in the corner or we could of course go to the back room for a private and fully nude dance. I chose a chair dance to start and she did a good job grinding and put my hands on her hips and ass. I then decided to blow a little cash and asked her about the back room. She said $40 to the house and $100 for her. I said all I had was $100 and she took it for 15 minutes. The back area is SUPER seedy with little booths that are very hard to describe. Basically the girl lays a towel down and can almost lay down and then you sit on a chair a little back. Very odd set up but still fun. Great show with lots of mutual touching and fun!

This is NOT the place to go for models, young girls or a clean and sanitized experience. This place is gritty, the girls are a little rough around the edges and have been around the block a few times but everyone is very nice and will be sure you have a good time. Parking seems pretty safe although I didn't see cameras or anything and the lighting could have been slightly better.
