I recently wrote a review on Follies that after visiting I was very disappointed. One of the items I called out was that I did not like the bar height stools where 'preferred' lap dances took place. Since that review I have been back twice trying to give the club another shot. The first visit I sat at the tables and received several dances but was very frustrated with their quality. The dancers at Follies seem to think that bouncing their butt into your crotch is what a lap dance is all about. So trip number two, was no better than the first. The third trip; however, has changed my perception. What I learned the last time around is that a lot of the dancers seem to have no idea how to give a lap dance. I don't think Follies is very discriminatory in their hiring. That said, the trick then becomes to be a little more cautious than normal in 'previewing' the talent. This trip I spent about an hour watching various dancers at the wall chairs. What I discovered is that a lot of them just face forward and bounce back and forth. Essentially a worthless dance to me. I did notice thought that a few of the dancers were creative and flexible in use of the chair. After watching a few, I selected a dancer that seemed to be about more then 'butt bouncing' and got a couple of dances. She far exceeded any dance I've had in a club in recent memory.
As a side note, in all my experiences with the dancers there they have been up front and honest about the number of 'full dances' received. I never had a dancer try the start in the middle of a song and charge me full price.
Summary: $5 parking, $10 cover, $10 dances. Wait for a chair on the chair on the wall. Don't get a dance from someone you haven't seen in action.
