Each week brings a new dimension...
Each week brings a new dimension to the transformation being undertaken by the Hustler Club owners to the downstairs Little Darlings club. The latest was perhaps the most amazing... the Blockist visited about a week ago and things in the front bar were pretty much as they had been forever - the big oval bar in the middle with the dance stage in the middle of the oval. Lap dance booths had been moved to the back room, but not much else changed. Then this Monday everything was different. The big bar is gone, there is a dance stage where the old laptop booths were, and there is now a small wall-facing bar with a few stools in the corner. Customers at the bar sit with their backs to the stage. There are a number of small round tables scattered around, a big sofa opposite the bar, and seats around the new stage, a la many out-of-town bars where tipping for close-ups is the norm. The Blockist asked how they performed such a feat, and the answer was that everything was pre-built and demo and set-up was accomplished one night after hours! Drinks are CHEAP ($3 for customers, $7 for "dancers").
Most of the action revolves around "Want a lapdance... 2 for $40? Lapdances are in the back room with a $150 VIP room option. VIP rooms have curtains at the door, and roomy leather sofas. One even has a sink and counter... bring your dishes or laundry?
Time will tell whether the Block culture again flourishes in the revamped version of the old Flamingo... not so far, but perhaps the new culture is worth having a look.
