I usually end up hitting LDs in the early afternoon as I always feel that you get more attention at that time.

LDs looked, and has always looked, rough from the outside. Romantically nestled under a freeway overpass in scenic Lemon Grove (cough, cough), LDs fits right in with the run down businesses that are its neighbors. I'm sure the air quality is pretty bad on the outside under the freeway, but the door is right over there. The parking lot has seen better days, as has much of the exterior of the club, but I'm not here to look at the exterior.

Heading inside, the entrance makes the place seem a bit seedier than it is. Nothing fancy here, pay the waitress your cover (or drink charge) -- it's $10 during the day -- and head on in. This club is very tiny. A small stage up front, 'VIP' booths to the left and couch dance/lap dance/VIP room to the right. All together this club can't be much more than 30' x 25'. Seating gets interesting when it is busy, but not in the afternoon.
