Visiting a friend in Hawaii who...

Visiting a friend in Hawaii who recommended 939, which used to be called Rockza. Got there pretty late - around 10:30 (okay, late for *me.*) $10 cover includes a drink. One thing I never understood: I got wanded before I entered. I've had this experience in Houston and other cities, but was surprised to see that level of security in quotidian Hawaii.

The physical layout is nicely done, although strange: lots of stages down the center of the club, with what look to be VIP booths on the periphery. (Seating VIP booths, not the other kind.)

Strangely, not a lot of action on a Thursday night. There were only five or so customers and perhaps a dozen dancers. Many were Russian or Eastern European--which i am fine with, but not what I was expecting.
