While staying in the Detroit area, I went out to Ypsi and to Deja Vu. The outside was well lit and the host/maitre de was nice, but he actually seated me as if in a swanky restaurant. It was a busy Saturday night about 9 or 10. The lay out is theatrical in concept, but with small tables, instead of rows of seats--much like an old cabaret. Stage up front, with semi-circular seating area facing the stage. They offered to bring popcorn and bugged a bit to sell drinks.

I was uncomfortable with dancers that looked awfully young. Many of them could have passed for high school girls easily. And one got the sense that there would be strict rules on the lap dances. The dancers ranged from middle of the road girl next door with glasses to pretty. Add pleated skirts and pom poms and you'd have the junior varsity cheer squad at a small high school. I don't think I saw even one real hottie. I stayed only a short while and got on over to a Detroit club where I could tell the ladies were at least half my age.

If I'm driving through Ypsi again, I might stop and sample, but I wouldn't break my neck to get there. Head east on Michigan toward Detroit a couple miles from downtown Ypsi (where Deja Vu is) and there's a blue collar strip joint I may try some time. I should have stopped there and tried it.
