Private eyes is a good, solid club a few blocks west of Times Square. I was just there last week and have been several times while in New York city for work and it never disappoints. When you enter you stop at the cashier and pay the cover (cost varries by time/day, was $10 on a Friday night). The first room has the bar, some seats, and a small stage where the girls dance but don't strip. Then you passthrough tothe main room where there is a decent sized stage with usually three girls dancing topless. The stage is not raised that far, but has a ledge that runs all around it. The room itself is relatively small, so there really isn't a bad seat. The waitresses are friendly and quick. There is a one drink minimum so you will likely be hit up right away unless you buy a drink at the bar before going into the main room. The girls will make the rounds and ask if you are interested in a dance. They won't usually hound you too badly and are happy to give you your space if you are looking for that.

If you want a dance, I'll say I've maybe only ever had one bad one there and that the overwhelming majority are very good to outstanding. Dances which are topless are $20/song and while you should always pay attention to how many songs have played, I've found that most of the girls usually stop at the end of the song and check if you want to continue or move on. The dances are all done on a long bench which is on the side of the stage. So there's a zero privacy. But it's also a dark room and everyone is going to be over there at some point so it's not really that bad.

I've gone to the Champagne room once before. I believe it was $450 on a Friday night. The price includes an hour with the girl of your choice and a bottle. If you do decide to go to the Champagne room, ask for Elizabeth she's a great hostess and very friendly and easy to work with. The room itself is a series of leather couches and moderate privacy and the room is dark. It's not much different than just getting a dance, but if you really like the girl the privacy and more relaxed setting is nice.
