Thee Dollhouse in Raleigh, N.C., has been a longtime favorite of mine, and easily one the best gentlemen’s clubs on the east coast. I have sent people there from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond to experience a quality club because of the lack of excellence at similar establishments in these areas. However, a trip to Thee Dollhouse last Saturday night (April 3d) indicates they are slipping – badly. I would hesitate from now on before I recommended Thee Dollhouse to anyone else.

Typically, it has some of the best looking ladies around, but all but two or three that night were quite average. Moreover, a lot of them seemed too money hungry. A table dance is $15.00, which is fair, but some got miffed for not receiving $20.00. One took a $20.00 from a young man in a wheelchair, hurried off, and did not give him back change until someone tracked her down and asked for it. It seemed like “con night.” A shooters girl turned stripper who chattily bounced around a table networking a group of guys became agitated after receiving only $15.00. As a result, she would not grant a VIP lounge dance to one of them, even after a few polite requests. By all means, a lady has a right to turn down an offensive individual, but claiming only to dance for “friends” is sub par, and such rhetoric will damage Thee Dollhouse’s otherwise excellent reputation and brand name. It is, after all, a gentlemen’s club, not “Billy Bob’s Strip Bar.” Women are there to sensuously entertain customers – people who spend large sums of money and expect to be treated as gentlemen by lovely ladies, not as degenerates by high school girls with attitudes. And if they do not want to dance for a respectable, well-dressed and behaved person, then they are in the wrong business.

Others seemed too pushy. Two mildly attractive Eastern European ladies became agitated when politely turned down for a lap dance. Another became outwardly annoyed when turned down for a VIP lounge dance. One particular cocktail waitress who profited well off one table was angry all night long about some personal problem.
