As people who live in the Twin Cities know, everything about St. Paul (besides the fact that it's where the state capitol is) pales in comparison to Minneapolis, and strip club laws are no different. Not that Minneapolis is Lap City, but it's Sodom compared to St. Paul. I remember a law passed a long time ago that required all titty bars to erect a shield between customers and girls dancing nude (I don't know if there are stipulations for alcohol, etc.). In fact, I think it was the opening of the Lamplighter Lounge that brought about this stupid law.

It's important to remember that the LL isn't in St. Paul proper. It's close to it, but it's not necessarily in a suburb. It's in a rough-looking area, and when you pull into the strip mall the club's attached to (BTW, a laundromat's in the same complex; if you somehow mess yourself, you can go around the corner to clean yourself up!), you might get the feeling that someone's waiting to boost your car.

This is not a gentleman's club. It's a bar, pure and simple. Been here twice, once at night, once during the day. You'll have to show ID to get in. Lounge is split into two rooms right down the middle. The room you enter is the bar; what constitutes a lap dance area is in the back corner, and the restrooms are down a hallway all the way to the end. The left side is the strip club side; the left wall is the stage, and there are a row of chairs in front of it, and the rest of the room is filled with tables. (There is a very small game room in the front corner, filled with old video games, a dartboard or two and a pool table or two.)
