I had heard great things about...

I had heard great things about the Jolar Cinema, both here on tuscl, and elsewhere on the seedier side of the web. Of all the adult theaters in San Diego, it's supposed to be the best place to get some play, especially from open-minded couples. I had some time to kill, I was in that part of town already, and I was getting sick of always seeing the same one girl at the Barnett Superstore. So I headed over to Jolar at 9:30/10:00 on a Thursday evening.

Parking was a little confusing and a little sketch. There were two spots right in front of the place, and a strip of storefronts next door that had their own parking lot—the sign on that lot did say Jolar parking, but half the lot also had "Private Parking - Will Tow" signs up. It looked like there was also a lot behind the place, in the total dark (which could be conducive to some of the fun I've read about), but since it's not in the most comfortable part of town, I found a spot in the lot next door.

The front of the store is definitely small: if you're actually looking to buy some porn/toys/whatever, I wouldn't recommend the Jolar. The clerk working the register wasn't the friendliest I've seen, but I'm sure she has to deal with a lot of jerks, so I was forgiving. To get back to the arcade/theater/live show area, you have to buy a ticket: either a 4 hours-for-$10/24 hours-for-$20 theater ticket, or a $1 general admission ticket. Then head on back.

I decided to check out the theater first, so I paid my $10 dollars and walked through the maze, checking out the talent in the live shows on my way—more on that in a moment. I got buzzed into the cinema, and took a look around. One couple, who was there for a while, but didn't seem interested in playing, either with each other or with anyone else. Then a bunch of solo guys who, again, didn't seem to be looking for any assistance. The theater was alright -- two rooms, each with two screens. One room had one screen showing straight porn, and one showing gay male porn; the other room was showing straight porn on both screens. All fairly vanilla, all with the sound turned down pretty low. Seats were comfortable enough. Multiple boxes of tissues spread throughout the area. Guess that's all that one really needs.

So, after spending some time in the cinema, getting ready, I headed back out to see what the live girls could do for me. There were two girls working. One was in her room, redlight district style, looking out through the window at the men as they passed by—reminded me of some Eastern European... performers I saw on my visit to Show Park in Prague, big nose and chest, but hard to tell much given how low she had the lights. The other, an asian-looking (Filipino, maybe? Possibly mixed?) girl, had her door open and was spread out on her bed texting. She was friendly enough when I asked if she was working, and confirmed the price. She gave me change, told me her name was Leiya, and said she'd see me in a sec.
