I've been to the Pink Poodle...

I've been to the Pink Poodle many times before, but hadn't been in San Jose for a while, so I decided to stop by. The club looked the same as the last time I visited - which is to say it's still got a divey feel, but it's been cleaned up some from how it was a few years ago.

Plenty of girls I didn't recognize as well, although a few of the more veteran dancers (Brandy, Kali, Carly and Lisa, specifically) were working on this night. The newer talent was nothing special, so I spent the evening catching up with a few of my old-time favorites.

The club offers lap dances for $40/song, but almost every girl attempts to upsell a better/longer dance for an additional $20 or more. The areas for the lap dances are not very private and there are cameras monitoring everything, but contact was still fairly liberal - YMMV depending on the dancer. Shower shows are $50 for 10 min. These used to be my favorites, but with the addition of a camera in the shower and a much shorter privacy curtain I was leery. A couple of the girls told me the showers were still good, but were nothing like the old days, which cemented my decision not to partake. Oh how it made me long for the days where the shower shows were far more private and a few of the girls knew exactly how to build a long-term client base rather than trying to fleece each guy for everything he had on that particular night.
