For a chain outfit like Delilah’s you might expect a more corporate look and feel than what you’ll find at their Manville location. The club is in a predominantly residential neighborhood a block off Main Street – which makes safety/security less of a concern, but with no dedicated parking lot you may wind up having to walk a few blocks to your car.
Entering the building you pass the usual ID/coat check in a central room, with restrooms and the dancers’ dressing room to the left and the main club floor to the right. The stage runs about half the overall length of the room, with the bar toward the back and private dance space in a separate area toward the front of the building. Comfortable, if somewhat worn, chairs line both sides of the stage, and for those not interested in an “up close†view (or being obliged to tip) there are additional chairs and small tables against the wall.
Stage performances are fully nude – I say “performances†rather than “dances,†since most of the girls on stage don’t do much you could really call dancing. Moves range from simple gyrations around one of the poles, to putting stage-side customers in a headlock with their thighs. Which sounds fantastic in theory, but isn’t so pleasant in practice when the performer in question isn’t so attractive but doesn’t take “no thank you†as a clear sign to move on. Pushy fours notwithstanding, there are some top-tier women working here. The staff seems to trend heavily Eastern European, though there are both Russian-born beauties and home-grown gals that I’d rank eight or higher.
