One thing about Stiletto’s – it is predictable. They will charge you the entrance fee if you arrive even one minute after seven. The outside is dreary and unkempt, and there is always a bit of broken glass here and there in the parking lot. The waitresses will always spot you once you’ve entered and will ask you what you want and charge you either ten or eight dollars, depending on whether you arrive before or after seven. They post the lineup on their website in the late afternoon. The music inside is incredibly, deafeningly nonstop and loud. They always have lots of dancers there, and early in the day there are often more dancers than customers. Dancers will approach with a regular rhythm, and will often come back around after a time and ask again if you want a dance; they are always friendly and polite. Quite a number of dancers there are regulars and have been working at Stilettos for years. The dances are high, sometimes even very high mileage for twenty and I always leave feeling good about having spent some time there.
