Memphis is an odd place to go to a club now. The rules passed 1 Jan 2012 make clothing mandatory, so they technically aren't really strip clubs anymore. It's done a lot of damage to the scene, as the interest dried up, the money dried up, most of the best dancers left for areas where they can make money, which means the clubs aren't as fun, so the interest dries up more . . . insert death spiral here. Christies Cabaret is the first casualty.

Supposedly they are planning to set up a red light district in the next year or so. Only time will tell how that works out.

Now that the background is out of the way, note that I've taken up the habit of only going to clubs after confirming with one of my regulars that they are working. Potluck often isn't worth it in clubs that aren't even topless...
