I first visited Casa Diablo about...

I first visited Casa Diablo about a year ago-- and wrote a review of it then (dated Sep 4 2011). I went back a lot last fall and early this spring, but then I didn't get the chance for maybe 5-6 months. Well, I went again recently, and there have been some changes.

First change is the tipping 'rules'. There are signs posted all around the main stage rack saying that a $2 per song tip is mandatory to sit there.

Second change is that the bar gives change in $2 bills rather than singles-- to facilitate tipping, obviously. These bills, by the way, are also decorated with bright pink/red marker (or is it lipstick which, I suspect, is to discourage you from taking them with you to spend elsewhere.... since they look so 'distinctive'.
