This is my second review of Soobies. I quite like this place and so I try to drop by when I am in town and am rarely disappointed. On my last trip to Portland a few weeks ago I dropped by a couple of times. I'm always in the area too early because the place doesn't open until 4pm now (TUSCL club profile says 11am but this is not correct). This last trip I managed to visit once at opening time and a couple of days later in the evening (about 8pm).

Soobies is close by a couple of other places (Jodies and Mr Peeps, both of which are worth visiting). I don't stay late in this area though because its in a quiet location and there are sometimes a few weird characters hanging around late at night as you walk back to the train station. They have a security guy on the door who keeps and eye on the car park though if you are driving.

The bar is well stocked and the bar attendant is always very friendly and helpful. He's been there a while (don't know if there's more that one but when I visit Portland every few months he always seems to be on shift). He'll rustle up a quick snack if I'm in a hurry and he'll always point out if there's a special on beers (though its usually the same $2 Pabst).
