after about a 10 year hiatus, visited the og on a friday afternoon. did some research and found, if you are staying on the strip without a car, going to the og was the best bet in vegas. there is no cover and the north/south bound bus (express and local) takes you relatively close. believe it's 1 or 2 stops past the stratosphere stop. arrived at the og at 5pm, btw, happy hour ends at 6pm. for me, the main point of arriving during happy hour is that the $30 cover is waived. this is also provide that you tell the doorman that you either drove or took the bus (if arriving by cab, the cab driver gets a cut of the entry fee). the club was dark and empty. there were approximately 5 patrons and 5 dancers? imho, going during the afternoon is the only way to go. the dancers are much more attentive and have much more time to shoot the breeze. during the evening, there is money to be made and very little time for chit-chat. approached by a very attractive curvy and all natural dancer (mid 20s). she convinced me to a 2 dance session at the booths (also a happy hour bonus), as after 6pm, dances are done on the "floor" vs the "booths". after a fun 2 dance session, she convince me to a vip, which was $160 for 15 minutes. this included 2 drinks. ordinarily would have passed, but since i was in vegas, i agreed. had a great time, stayed at the og until 10pm when it started to get packed. would definitely return, but while in vegas there were other clubs to visit.
