I was concluding a week of business in Ottawa, and stopped in Bare Fax in the early afternoon to escape the midday heat and do some reconnaissance for a planned return later that evening. The club was small, with a single stage in the center of the room across from a staircase down which the dancers came for their turn on stage. I'm not sure what else was upstairs. There was a small bar to one side and limited table seating away from the stage. It was comfortable, but not posh by any stretch of the imagination. There was a buffet lunch going on (free, I think) but I didn't sample that. There were about 6 or 7 dancers and about as many customers there midday. Most of the customers seemed like regulars, and the dancers visited with them comfortably. I stayed for one beer and about 5 stage dancers. The girls ranged in age and ethnicity, but none was better than a 6 or 7 in looks. One of girls visited with me for quite awhile, and was not pushy at all, but I passed on the offer of a private dance. I also passed on the return visit that evening. It's probably not fair to judge based on a midday visit, but the place didn't seem to have much energy. I was told later that there are better clubs in the Ottawa area, and when I return for my next trip, I will check them out before I return here.
