On a trip to Kamloops I...

On a trip to Kamloops I decided to drop in at the Duchess because one of the dancers I know was there that week. There is parking at the back but it is awkward to get into; it shares a parking lot with a liquor store. While there are entrances in the back they are closed after 6pm. I got in a little after 7pm. While the door/coat check was open I was not bothered to check my coat or to pay a cover charge. As you enter there is 1 pool table. It is a large room you the main stage is at the back of the room. You are allowed to sit quite up front (a nice suprise from Alberta where you have to sit at a minimum of 2 feet away) For a Friday night it was quite empty with about 5-7 patrons. Beer was $5 for draft. Dancers come on about every 1/2 hour. After the show they then walk around available for private dances. A little pricey $35 per show. I had two dances. Good news dancers are allowed to touch and grind unlike Alberta where there is no touching allowed.

Bad news dances are short the songs last about 3-4 minutes. After my dances we played a couple of games of pool the only charge is for the table of $1.25. She excused herself after the second game another customer wanted a dance and she has a quota of 10 dances. I am not sure if it is 10 per day or week so I understand why the dancers are eager for you to pay for a private dance.

All in all not a bad experience I would go back.
