I stopped in this weekend to see how things were at one of my all time favorite bars. I haven't been in in quite a while as the fallout from the new Detroit ordinace had caused a drop off in all the good things. I figured, give it time, and things will be OK. I was right. This bar is cool, you won't find some 800 lb gorilla in a tuxedo at the door shaking you down to get a good table, drinks are reasonable, the long time waitresses still work here and take good care of you. Get there by 9 pm and you can catch the stage review when all the gals will be on stage and then wait for the woman (or women) of your choice to dance for you. Quite a few of my favorite dancers still work here, and I enjoyed the company of them in the VIP area where one does have privacy, though there still is a camera in there to keep things somewhat sane. If you want an elegantly decked out bar with high prices and attitude go elsewhere, if you like women who enjoy pleasing you, come here to La Chambre.
