Visited the Sundowner as part of...
Visited the Sundowner as part of a bachelor party this past Saturday night. It was the first time I'd been there in well over a year. I used to go 3-4 times yearly, but the dropoff in dancer quality combined with the drive to Niagara put an end to this club as a go-to spot.
Well, I was interested to see if anything had changed over the last while. The cover is now $15, which gets you admission to both this place as well Seductions next door. Overall, after scoping out the club for about an hour, it was evident that it doesn't seem things have turned around. While I did notice a couple of decent looking dancers in the 7.5 range, I noticed a lot more that just weren't hot at all. A lot of out of shape girls here, lots of girls well into their 30's, and just not many of the hot young babes that I personally look for in a strip club. Some of the crowd enjoyed two-girl dances out on the floor, which could be entertaining. There was a bit of a line to get dances as the night wore on, but overall the dances here are okay. Thing is, if the dancers aren't hot - it really makes the mileage less of a concern.
On the plus side, it did seem that the dancers were friendlier than in recent years, as they were polite when turned down for a dance and not nearly as aggressive as I recall from previous visits. Good vibe and crowd with drinks priced reasonably for a strip club ($7 for whiskey, $6.75 for a bottle of beer). I wouldn't seek it out like in the old days, but also wouldn't avoid it if another occasion to visit arose after a few months.
