In the dictionary under “upscale,” there could be a picture of Rachel’s. Easily one of the most posh clubs I’ve ever visited. While that quality does come at a premium, at the right time – and with the right dancer – a decent time can be had on a reasonable budget.

I stopped in on a Sunday late afternoon/early evening and found the club sparsely populated with patrons, though there were dancers on regular stage rotation. Being my first time there, I settled at the bar for a drink and I didn’t have to wait long before I was joined by a dancer that had just finished her set. Physically she wasn’t a type I’d normally be very attracted to, although I’d give her at least a solid 7 on the 10 point scale. But as we talked it was clear her personality was her real strong suit – smart, funny, and striking the right balance between flirtatious and demure for my tastes. Her more than ample, all-natural bosom probably helped, too.

A busier time would’ve made a regular lap dance much less appealing, since the dance area consists of couches against the wall open to the rest of the floor. The stage in the center of the space does partially obscure sightlines from the main seating area, but you’re still essentially out in the open, so be aware if privacy is a high priority. Fortunately my companion and I had the space to ourselves (at least when we started), which clearly made things far more comfortable for both of us.
