I've been to Ybor a number of times on several trips to Tampa, but my two visits to the club on my most recent trip to the bay area were major disappointments. Pricey, as all the Tampa clubs are, Ybor nevertheless provided a welcome escape from 2001's blatant rip-offs and the jammed-packed, impersonal, production-line atmosphere of Mons Venus.

I found most recently that, as before, most Ybor ladies were fairly low pressure and some were willing to engage in a bit of conversation if you wished. What has dramatically changed is the cost-value relationship of the dances.

The routine is $20 per dance or three for $50 if the girl is willing. All dances are performed in semi-private rooms, so unless you've been with the lady before or latch onto sage advice, you don't know ahead of time what you'll get for your money. How liberal the girls are varies immensely. An advantage of Mons is that with dances in the open, you easily can pick out which girl's style and limits best meets your needs.
