I went into Stars about 5PM...

I went into Stars about 5PM on a Friday evening. Cover was $5 to get in and my microbrew was $4. A sign said that happy hour runs from 6-9PM. The club is quite nice by Portland standards. In other words it's not a dive. There are three stages and all of them were running when I was there.

Music was a very loud 50/50 mix of rock and rap. I found the DJ really annoying. He talked constantly while the girls danced, commenting on the dancing and talking to the girls on stage. Half the time he'd cut the music out so he could be heard better. On the other hand, many customers seemed to enjoy his patter. The customers were a mix of mostly young guys with only a few older guys.

There were perhaps 15-20 dancers on shift while I was there. All but one were white and all were thin (or thin-ish). A few had obvious enhancements but most appeared to be natural. A few appeared to be older or "worn." Many of the girls were enthusiastic dancers. Most of them would pay a bit of attention to tipping customers, but little or no contact was available at the rail.
