This was my first...
This was my first visit to UJ. I found the club itself to be quite nice. There was a full bar as well as a reasonable selection of draught beers ($4). Mixers (for those of us driving back) were only $3. The layout was well done in that there were quite a few seats at the rail of the main stage and fewer, more intimate seats near the small strage. You could also sit at the bar and have a nice view of either the main or small stage. Though it got quite crowded ~ 11 pm, it wasn't thuggish at all. The bar service was friendly and prompt. It was late evening so I didn't partake of any food nor did I notice anyone else doing so.
The dancers were a little different than I had been led to believe from previous reviews. A number of them did match the tattoo/emo vibe the club is known for. However, there were also a couple of other types present as well such as spinners, California blondes, and Russianesque. The only real deficit for me was that I'd prefer to see a wider ethnic mix but it may have just been that night's lineup. Most of the dancers were 7+ with only a couple in the 5ish range (I'm not a BBW guy but some patrons clearly were). The pole dancing ranged from standard strip club to spectacularly acrobatic. There was also a large range of price for private dances. I'd suggest asking before getting a dance as the prices I was quoted ranged from $25-$35. For that night, the lower the price the more into it the girl was and the better the dance. The dance area was more private than I have seen in most OR clubs (curtained off well) and quite clean.
Overall, it was a good visit. There were different dancer types, friendly bar staff, friendly dancers, and a safe feeling club. I will return.
