The Hush Puppy, although further along the road than one might like to travel, is well worth the drive. It is unassuming and if someone saw your car near it, they wouldn't think twice unless they knew what the Hush Puppy actually was. If you don't want to drive, there is a shuttle you can call and ask for that will pick you up anywhere in Cape Girardeau. There's a $6 cover after 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, so if you don't want to pay cover then it's better to get there earlier. On the inside, there is a steady stream of music throughout the night, only changing to suit the needs of patrons there, so it'll have general music when there are no dancers and pumping club music when there are dancers, and even then the music changes to suit the dancer, not remaining the same throughout the night. The bar is fully stocked for most drinks, with only the strangest of mixes not present (such as 'The Horseman of the Apocalypse'), and is tended by one of the most attractive bartenders I have ever seen.

The dancers are fantastic and are eager to please from the moment you walk in the door. If you walk in with a group of friends, a dancer may come over and entertain and talk to you as you enjoy your drinks and watch the stage. While they may suggest a dance, they won't push it on you like a salesman trying to sell a used car. Each dancer is unique in and of herself and each will have a different style, with no one style pervading overall. Some may be sultry and seductive, while others are friendly and chipper, with their private dances reflecting this. A regular dance will be $25 usually and that usually consists of a thong bottom and nothing else, with a nude dance being $50 or so. Depending on how fond of you the dancer is, though, she may decide to be a little more friendly than that and you may get a nude dance for $25 if you're really lucky. Generally the best way to get on a dancer's good side is to go up to her stage and tip her well, then talk to her at one of the side tables or at the bar. Drinks are not always the best bet, but they may appreciate the sentiment if they don't take the drink.
