It's been awhile, but I found myself in Providence Saturday afternoon and decided to visit my old haunt. Saturday afternoon was hot and sunny, so it was no surprise to find this club virtually deserted. No cover was charged. A single girl danced on the main stage, while the others mostly hung out around the bar or ate their lunches. A pint of Newport Storm was $4 plus tip, sodas went for $3, a relative bargain for a club.

Once my eyes got used to the dimness, I saw that little has changed about this club over the years except for the addition of champagne rooms off to the side. This is a bikini club, but the dancers would often pull their clothes aside for views of the good parts. Most of the dancers were attractive but not stunning, and like past visits, they weren't very aggressive about selling private dances. My eyes kept going back to a skinny girl in a striped, barely-there dress and glasses. (I've always had a soft spot for four-eyed women.) She called herself Lacy, and we ended up in the back room for several teasing dances. She then managed to do something no other dancer has managed to do, namely sell me time in the champagne room. It was $150 for 15 minutes with a glass of champagne included...I guess we were supposed to share it. What sold me was the fact that she wouldn't charge me anything extra beyond the champagne room fee. She delivered as promised, and it was a better bargain than the lapdance area. I left quite happy and amazed that I'd met a dancer who was so legit. It's only happened a couple of times, and it reminded me of why I liked this place. Occasionally you can really find a gem here!
