I am doing a follow-up to my review of Sunday June 10 2012, when I had suggested weekdays are a good time to visit Rock Za. That June 10 date here in Hawaii was a sort-of-holiday, the eve of Kamehameha Day. On Monday (often a really slow night for Honolulu strip clubs) June 25 I went back to test my thesis on a true weekday. A really good night. Got there around 11 p.m. $7 admission, which includes one drink. The parking lot was full, but street parking a block away was easy to find. Once in the club, I was struck right away by how good the ratio of dancers to customers was. There were lots of girls on stage, 3-4 on the stage near the bar and 5 or so at a time on the other, 'main' stage. Good blend of Asian and other, 50-50. The girls were busy enough to maintain a high number of girls on stage; for most of the night, most of the girls had customers at an given time. That said, it was not so busy that you couldn't get dances with the girls you wanted, with a little bit of waiting for the right moment. And I do love that row of tables facing the main stage; it provides a great view of both stages, and especially of the main stage, a scant 5 feet away; and you can slide easily up to the main stage for dances. Standouts included a Filipena with a slender natural body, tawny hair and a killer smile, and a striking Chinese/Mongolian woman with a very lithe figure.
In brief, I confirmed my thesis: weekends are a good time to venture west to the new Club Sun, Exotic Nights, etc.; if you're looking for a lively club on a Monday in Honolulu, Rock Za is a really good choice.
