The atmosphere that once characterized the Flamingo has really disappeared. There used to be 4-6 girls dancing during the day and everyone seemed to be oriented toward creating a party atmosphere. It seems that the management's personnel policies have turned off all but the most dedicated dancers. Each bar on the Block has a different formula for paying the girls. Some pay $50/day plus tips, some pay as much as $75/day plus tips. Tips vary from 4$ to $6 per drink, and drink prices for the girls vary from $20 to as much as $25. Most bars have a "bogey", meaning that a girl has to sell between 6 and 10 drinks to get paid anything! Apparently, this bar's formula isn't attractive enough to keep most dancers for more that a few weeks. Most nights, they are lucky to have 2 dancers. The bar is closed during the week on days when no dancers show up.
