When first I encountered Barbarella's, it was a different place indeed. I believe it was then located down the street at 230 Queen, in a high rise building and a classy place along the lines of BareFax. Now it is a different club indeed, in an old building that originally was the Coca=-Cola Bottling Company. And it is a one floor walk=-up. There was no working ATM and my pal and I had to go down the street to a Royal Bank to get a cash machine that would pay off. When we returned the doorgirl waived the admission charge. This was Victoria Day weekend and Ottawa was a ghost town and so was this joint. But it is friendlier than the old Barbarella's. And privacy is assured, since the lap dances are performed in a separate room. When we first arrived, the strippers were in civvies outside the building, ruining their gorgeous lungs with a few cigarettes, but they were Real People rather than Folks in Show Biz. I liked the performances of Honey and Lola, and was also entranced by the waitress, the tragically overdressed Chanel, who looked tired of her clothes. Most of the dancers were Afro=-Canadian. Had to leave before much started going on, but I will return even if it isn't the Old Barbarella's.
