I was in Las Vegas last...

I was in Las Vegas last week (2/23/05) for a friend's friend's 21st birthday (any reason to be in Las Vegas, right?). Obviously we wanted to hit the strip clubs. Having never been to the Palomino, and it being famous for being the only club that was fully nude and had a full bar, we had to try it out. From the strip it was a $20-$25 cab ride. We got out and the place was deserted. Granted, it was 2:00AM on a Tuesday, but this is Vegas right? We were told when we got in that there were only 6 girls dancing, but they were all hot (so they said)... and after an expensive cab ride to the middle of no where, we weren't going to turn around... yet. So we each paid our $30 cover and went upstairs (main stage was closed). There was an OK gal dancing to horrible country music on stage. She was fun and worked for the tips that we amply provided. Drinks weren't ridiculous at $7 for a rum & coke. But it went ugly quickly as a big beefy girl who basically just grabbed at tips and wattled around on stage. At that point a rather unattractive lady came by and asked us if we wanted a private dance. Being polite, we said not yet, we wanted to get (un)comfortable first as we had just arrived and wanted to see the stage show. She then loudly complained we were cheap asses. I think we were trying to be polite, and not say "you're a troll, beat it". Anyway, after the big girl left the stage, there was a 10 minute lull as no performers could be found. So we left.

Or tried to leave. Going back downstairs we found the doors were locked and we could not leave. I tracked down a bouncer who grudgingly let us out after my friend started spewing fire code jargon at him.

We spent 30 minutes in the dark, dingy club. We were exposed to horrible women, held captive by management, and left in the middle of no where to find a cab.
