Okay, first off, I really want to like this club. After the local scandal a few years back with the sheriff's daughter and then the disastrous flooding that closed down the interstate, I would like to be this club's biggest booster. I can't think of a club that has taken this many body blows and tried to get up off of the canvas. And I don't want to be the guy who throws a banana peel out there. But, I have to be honest.

Stopped by in prime time on a Saturday night. It was a little on the early side and it was pretty quiet. About four guys there and about 8 dancers. It was $25 to get in, but you got a card that you could redeem for the first lapper as long as you bought at least another lapper at the same time. The girls were all hovering around the 5-6 range. They seemed to be locals, by and large, with no indication that anybody was traveling through or riding circuit, or had driven down from Omaha or up from Missouri. The dancers didn't show much stage presence, and they all had the girl next door look instead of the lustful whore look. I don't remember any bottomless on the stage and there was none in the back other than some tiny peeks. It costs $5 for a wrist band to get in the back and the room was lit up even lighter than I remember. White walls, several lights, little atmosphere.

The club has its zebra-striped chairs back after the flood, and the comfortable couches. The layout of the place is pretty comfortable. Hey, come to think of it, it was darker on the main floor than it was in the back room. Because it is a juice bar, there is absolutely no pressure to buy anything--as a matter of fact, there were no drink girls at all. When I left, there was no sign of the club picking up and the dancers that were arriving were second-stringers. Talking with the girls on the floor was comfortable, with only a small amount of hustle. There was some talk of a paying for a chunk of time in the champagne room or paying by the dance ($25 per) in the VIP and there seemed to be no discernible difference--same room, same couches. I can't remember what the champagne room price was, but it was too high for this club and the subject was dropped quickly. The VIP was not so private and the rules were touching was allowed everywhere but the kitty. There was decent conversation and some minimal incidental, maybe even accidental, contact. Alas, no love connection.
