I used to go to the old Gold Club. A lot. It wasn't the greatest place, but it was convenient and there were a few hot girls who gave damn fine dances. This was my first visit to the place now known as "Rick's". Now, this is not the Rick of "Rick's Cafe Boatyard" (also on the westside of Indy). This is some other Rick who apparently has nudie bars all over the US (but mostly Texas, I understand). Cafe Boatyard could use some strippers, though. Then again, what place couldn't? Mental note - start a quick oil change service that comes with a lapdance.

The interior of the club is pretty damned nice. Rick did a fine job remodeling, except for the lighting. The Gold Club used to have dim, but mostly incandescent, lighting. It was good for a relaxed, yet lascivious, mood. Honestly, the lighting was one of the better features of the club - you could very easily tell a hot girl from a fugly one. Rick's now has all kinds of colored danceclub style lighting with rotating, blinding spotlights. This club is no longer epileptic-friendly.

As others have noted, the stages aren't quite what we're used to in Indy. There are three tiny little stages that sit about a foot off the floor. Two have seats around them, but no one was sitting there because the stages are too damned low and there's no railing/table around them to make up for the lowness (like at Brass Flamingo). I do like the way they spread lots of small tables throughout the main floor, around and between the stages, though. I found a table in this section near two of the stages.
