I was in Melbourne on some business and decided to try out the local strip club scene. Being from the US and having a set notion of what defines a club there, I was interested to see how a club in Oz fairs. I had intended to go to Goldfingers, but the 5 cops outside kinda freaked me out. As there were 3 clubs all in the same area, I decided the Men's Gallery was as good as any.

Not knowing what to expect, I entered, paid the cover (I believe it was around $10AUD). The club has two levels (I never ventured to level 2). It featured a large bar and plenty of seating. I found it to be more of a social club than clubs in America meaning there were lots of men and women just mingling.

I found a seat and watched a girl on stage. I didn't see any stage tipping and not knowing the protocol decided to just watch. The girl dancing was a 7, but very uninterested in what she was doing. After about six dances, one finally showed an interest. She approached me and asked if I wanted a dance. I opted for a $50AUD dance. There was no touching, no grinding etc. It consisted of me sitting in a chair, her sitting in another completely nude dancing. If I recall the length of dance is determined by the amount of money meaning $50AUD buys you 15 min. regardless of song length whereas in the US, $50 might buy you 5 dances each a song length long.
