This review of Platinum 84 will encompass my visits on a Friday night after midnight and Saturday early evening. Let me preface by saying that Denver is not a great town for strip clubs, but if you are stuck in the Mile High City, this is a decent spot to hang out at. The club is located about a block north of 84th Street on a side street, just across the way from a Comcast service center. The parking lot was large enough to accommodate all of the visitors and lit up at night. As you walk in, there will be a desk with a bouncer on your right. At night, the cover is $5. During the day, there is no cover. I am not sure what time is the cutoff. The bar is to your immediate right as you continue in. The inside is a large room with three stages. The southwest corner has three pool tables. The southeast corner has a small partitioned area for lappers: six lounge chairs behind a five and a half foot wall of translucent blocks. The north wall has a stage for live music; sometimes this club has bands playing, maybe once a month. The music played here is hip hop, pop, and rock. Thug factor was out of control here, especially during the night shift on weekends. I have never seen so many white guys (wiggers) and oriental guys (chiggers) pretending to be black. There were just too many straight-bill caps and sagging-below-the-butt pants to make the visit enjoyable. The bouncers claim there is a dress code, but somehow the garbage still gets in.

The dancers are very average, hit or miss. Many times I walked up to the stage excited, only to be deflated upon seeing that some of the girls looked ugly up close. However, there were definitely some gems to be found here, more so on night shift than day shift. Most of the day shift girls looked dull and worn out from childbirth and age. I did find a 9.5 to my liking and took her back for some dances. She allowed better contact, the more dances I did. Lap dances were $20, but the privacy was not the best. Club staff would walk by the entrance to the lap dance corridor every once in a while to make sure nothing illegal was going on. There is no VIP room option here.

The waitresses and bartenders were smoking hot. Many were sexier than the dancers. However, they were always overstaffed. The servers were hustling harder than the dancers and were sometimes snotty when you turned them down. I got hit up for drinks by three different waitresses in just twenty seconds. The dancer I spent most of my time with even commented how bad the drink hustle was here and took it upon herself to help shoo them away. When you ask for a beer they will bring you a bottle, which costs $6. The drafts are slightly cheaper at $5, but they don’t tell you this. Be sure to specify you want a tap beer up front and save yourself a dollar per drink the rest of your visit.
